From our first email to the last dance, Jay was professional, kind, and incredibly organized. He made wedding planning easy and fun, staying in constant communication and ensuring every detail was perfect. Jay also went far beyond the responsibilities of what you would expect from an M.C. and DJ — providing guidance on dress bustles ("you don't want it falling out on the dance floor"), raising questions I never would have thought of regarding the ceremony run-of-show, making sure we had time carved out for sunset photos amidst dinner/speeches, and more. On the day itself, Jay was amazing — calm, upbeat, and completely in control (even when the power temporarily cut out about an hour before the ceremony...). He read the crowd beautifully, kept our guests dancing all night, and made every transition (grand entrance, speeches, cake cutting, etc.) flow seamlessly. Jay truly went above and beyond for us, and we’re so thankful he was part of our day. Do yourself a favor and hire Jay! The longer review: From day one of booking with Jay, I felt like we were his #1 priority. We had a handful of planning calls that covered every detail of our wedding day. He gave excellent advice and guided us through making big and small decisions that made our wedding incredible. I had a very particular vision for the music for our processional, which Jay brought to life. We worked together to break it into parts and extend each one appropriately so our bridal party didn't have to worry about timing it right themselves. On our wedding day, Jay moved between those sections so smoothly and it was exceptionally exciting to hear that plan come to life. Jay managed speeches and toasts phenomenally and communicated clearly with everyone who was set to speak so they knew exactly what to expect. I heard many times throughout the dancing later that our guests loved the DJ. We agreed, and had a packed dance floor the whole night. We asked for some specific songs, but mostly asked Jay to go with the vibe and lead the party, and boy did he! Thankfully we extended our shuttles an extra hour because the party was going strong until the last moment. From the initial phone meeting to the day of, Jay went above and beyond in helping us with our wedding. He helped us with so much more than just our music options. He helped us with details we never would have thought of that really made the day move smoothly. Not only were all of our guests up on the dance floor, he kept the night moving along. My husband and I were both so, so happy we picked Jay but after the wedding, we had multiple people tell us how great he was. My sister gets married next year in CA and asked me if I thought Jay would make the trip for her wedding. As a planner, I always appreciate a wedding vendor who makes my job easier. I worked with DJ Jay Kacie last weekend at The Stanley Hotel and he was fabulous! We had an electrical issue during setup at the ceremony site and Jay took control and fixed the issue efficiently. As a wedding DJ myself, I'm occasionally asked if I can DJ a wedding for a family member. I politely decline because I'd prefer to enjoy the wedding as a guest. My #1 go-to as a referral is Jay Kacik. Over the last couple of years, Jay has been the DJ/MC for three of my niece's weddings, and he has been absolutely fantastic. At each, my niece's have been impressed with his reliability, ease in communication, and going above and beyond when it comes to personalized touches. He even put together an amazing mashup for my niece Rachel's dance with her father a couple of weeks ago which everyone is still talking about. It was epic! Look no further if you are need for a polished Master Of Ceremonies and DJ who will keep your guests informed and your dancefloor packed!!
